Over the past decades, the field of nanomedicine has emerged as a cornerstone of modern drug delivery, offering innovative strategies to overcome the limitations of conventional pharmaceutical formulations. By enabling the encapsulation of poorly soluble drugs and allowing precise control over drug release kinetics and nanoparticle biodistribution, nanomedicines enhance targeted delivery to specific tissues, significantly reducing systemic toxicity while improving therapeutic efficacy. Moreover, these platforms protect fragile bioactive molecules, such as proteins and RNA, from degradation, opening new opportunities for advanced and personalized therapies. This Reprint presents a curated collection of original research articles and review papers focused on the development, engineering, and characterization of cutting-edge nanomedicines, with a particular emphasis on their application in anticancer and anti-infectious treatments.
