This study aims to estimate the e ect ofpersonal and organizational characteristics on the researchproductivity of lecturers at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, thereby recommending appropriate solutions inimproving research productivity at this university. Analyzing I41 lecturer survey questionnaires of6 differentdisczplines, including technology and socialfields. wefound that there are diflerences in research productivitybetween technical and social fields; obstacles to carrying out scientific research interrupt the research productivity, and the academic environment has a positive relation to the scientific research performance oflecturers. More specifically there exists a nonlinear relationship between the age oflecturers and research productivity
